Google announced that Android devices will receive a batch of new feature updates this month, including Motion Assist and feature expansion to Find Hub. Motion Assist is an anti-motion sickness feature launched by the Android system. Its principle is similar to Apple's Motion Cues. This function will superimpose a set of dots on the screen that can move according to changes in vehicle movement, helping users reduce motion sickness caused by watching the screen while riding in the car.
Another highlight of this update is that Find Hub will add a new way to find items without installing a tracker on them. According to the blog content released by Google that day, users will be able to ask Gemini to remember the location of important items such as passports in the future. Such items are not used frequently, and users may forget where they put them after a few months.
Users can ask Gemini to record the location of items and add photos of them. When needing to retrieve an item in the future, users can ask Gemini directly or view relevant information in the "Remembered Items" tab of Find Hub. The feature will be available for devices running Android 16 or higher, but only in countries where both Gemini and Find Hub are supported.
This update also adds Guided Vision functionality. Users can call their mobile phone cameras in Gemini Live and let Gemini help read small text on labels or menus, or help users find a specific ingredient in the cupboard. If the camera viewing position is inappropriate, the system will also prompt the user to adjust the picture through voice. Guided Vision will support devices running Android 9 and above.
In addition, Google Messages now supports chat topics. Users can select a background image, and the app will automatically adjust the matching style of the chat bubble based on the image.
