Abstract:
Relevant information about Intel's next-generation desktop processor Nova Lake-S continues to spread, and the processor socket has always been the focus of attention. It is reported that Intel will abandon the existing LGA1851 socket and enable the new LGA1954 socket for the upcoming Core Ultra 400 series processors.
Previously, relevant records of LGA1954 appeared in the shipping list a few months ago, and the outside world has also exposed the appearance of the slot. Now, Intel has further confirmed through official internal tools that Nova Lake-S will be used with the LGA1954 socket.
Intel recently released an internal testing tool on its official website, which clearly associates the LGA1954 socket with the Nova Lake-S processor. This product is verification hardware and is mainly used for engineering testing and technical support. However, this is also the first time Intel has officially mentioned both Nova Lake-S and LGA1954 in the same project, so it is regarded as a formal confirmation of the relationship between the two.
This means that when the Nova Lake-S processor is launched, the LGA1954 platform will be launched simultaneously and paired with Intel 900 series motherboards. Currently, Nova Lake is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2027.
