Abstract:
Microsoft has launched a limited-time trade-in offer in the United States and Canada. If you purchase a Surface Laptop Ultra and return an eligible old device, you will receive the appraised value of the device, plus up to $1,000 in cash back.

The maximum amount is not available to everyone. The actual reward will vary based on the Surface configuration purchased and the valuation of the old device. It is not a direct price reduction at checkout: users must first purchase an eligible new machine through the Microsoft online store, then submit a recycling application and purchase voucher on the Teladvance page. After approval, the old device will be shipped, and the money will be refunded after review.

Microsoft said that Surface Laptop Ultra starts at US$2,599.99 and focuses on local AI computing and 3D graphics processing. It is equipped with the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform and is equipped with up to 20-core Grace CPU and 128GB unified memory. The new machine uses a 15-inch touch screen, is less than 18 mm thick, weighs less than 4.5 pounds, and is equipped with USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, SD card slot and headphone jack. Microsoft says this is its most powerful Surface laptop yet, and the offer is intended to lure MacBook Pro users to switch to the high-end Windows device.

Trade-in devices must be owned by the user, be able to turn on, run on battery, and remain in full working order; devices with cracked screens, liquid damage, missing or damaged parts, modified devices, or still have password locks are not eligible and must be shipped with the original charger, accessories, and hard drive. The device needs to be sent out within 15 days after completing the recycling process online, and payment will be made only after Teladvance has inspected and approved it; Microsoft terms state that once the transaction is completed, it is irrevocable. The rebate method listed in Microsoft Store FAQ is PayPal or bank transfer, and is usually paid within 14 days after the device is inspected. Each customer is limited to one participation in the event. The final estimate of the recycling equipment and whether it passes the review will be determined by Teladvance.

The Microsoft Surface product event page lists the discount period as October 7 to November 23, 2026, but the relevant details on the Microsoft Store general trade-in page still show that it will end on October 26. The dates on the two official pages are not consistent. Consumers should refer to the effective terms displayed at checkout or application. The discount is only available through the Microsoft online store in the United States and Canada; the promotion focuses on MacBook Pro, but the specific years and models that can be recycled must still be based on Teladvance's equipment list and test results.
