Motorola launches Signature 27 flagship phone with 12,000 nit screen and 7,000mAh battery to hit the high-end market

📅 2026-11-06

Abstract:

Motorola officially released the new flagship smartphone Signature 27. This new phone adopts a traditional candy bar design instead of the currently popular folding form, but its price directly enters the ultra-high-end market. The company hopes to use this product to redefine the standard of flagship mobile phones and launch a head-on challenge to high-end brands such as Samsung and Apple.

Signature 27 is equipped with a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola said that this screen has a peak brightness of up to 12,000 nits, making it one of the brightest display panels in the smartphone field. However, this brightness can only be achieved in specific scenarios, and the sustained brightness level in daily use will be lower than the peak data.

In terms of hardware, the new machine is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 mobile platform, equipped with 12GB of memory and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage space. Although some competing models have previously provided 16GB memory configurations, 12GB capacity is still at the flagship level given the current tight memory supply.

The imaging system is one of the core selling points of Signature 27. The rear three-camera combination includes a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia L910 main camera with an aperture of f/1.6; a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2; and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom. At the same time, Motorola also added a specialized Event-Based Vision Sensor to improve the ability to capture high-speed moving targets.

On the front, the new phone is equipped with a 50-megapixel selfie camera that supports video calls and high-quality selfie shooting. According to DXOMARK’s current ranking, Signature 27’s comprehensive image performance ranks second in the world, second only to Huawei Pura 80 Ultra.

In terms of battery life and charging configuration, Signature 27 has a built-in 7000mAh ultra-large capacity battery and supports 90W wired fast charging. Motorola claims that it only takes 12 minutes to charge to meet a day's use needs. Some information shows that the machine also supports up to 50W wireless charging capability.

In addition, the machine uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, Bang & Olufsen tuned audio system and six-antenna design to further improve 5G network connection performance. The body is both IP68 and IP69 dustproof and waterproof.

In terms of heat dissipation, Motorola has equipped Signature 27 with a new generation heat dissipation system called ArcticMesh, which combines diamond particle thermal conductive gel, liquid metal, large-area vapor chambers, and copper mesh structures to ensure sustained performance output in high-load scenarios such as AI computing, games, and video processing.

In terms of software, the new phone is pre-installed with Android 17 system. Motorola promises to provide system version upgrades and security update support for up to seven years from the date of global launch, and its software maintenance cycle is in line with industry-leading standards. In addition, the machine has been deeply optimized for Google Gemini's new generation AI functions and supports multiple generative AI application scenarios, including content creation, task automation, and real-time assistance functions.

In terms of color, Signature 27 will be available in Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive. The product will be available for pre-order on November 19th and will be officially released on November 26th.

In terms of price, Motorola has set a starting price of $1,599.99 for the Signature 27. As a non-folding flagship phone, this pricing has entered the price range of some folding screen devices, showing that Motorola hopes to establish a new brand image in the high-end smartphone market with top-notch hardware configuration and long-term software support.
