Musk issued a statement stating that Starlink, as a civilian commercial service, is never allowed and should never be used to control offensive drones to carry out killing operations. Star Shield is another independent system under the control of the U.S. government. How to use the system is decided by the U.S. side. The Ukrainian military violated Starlink’s terms of service by using it to launch offensive drone strikes that resulted in casualties. The relevant loopholes were closed last week.
Starlink is still crucial to Ukraine's defense. At least for now, it is the only communication system that cannot be interfered with and difficult to destroy.
