Abstract:
Samsung is about to launch a new generation of high-end folding screen mobile phone W27 exclusive to the Chinese market. Recently, a photo of a suspected real phone was exposed on the Internet. Well-known tipsters revealed that Samsung plans to officially release this new product on October 29, and its core configuration will be consistent with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
Judging from the exposed pictures, the W27 adopts a dark blue body design, with gold decoration added to the frame and around the camera module. The iconic gold badge of the W series is retained on the lower back of the fuselage. The rear three-camera system and pill-shaped camera module layout are almost identical to those of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, further supporting the claim that the two models share a hardware platform.
The W series has always been Samsung's high-end customized folding screen product line launched for the Chinese market and is sold through China Telecom channels. Every year, Samsung creates a more luxurious special version based on the contemporary Fold flagship, usually using high-end design elements such as black and gold colors, and providing higher memory configurations than the international version and luxurious packaging with additional accessories.
The previous generation W26 was built based on Galaxy Z Fold7, and added support for China’s “Tiantong” satellite communication system, which can realize satellite calls and messaging functions. Both the 512GB and 1TB versions of the machine are equipped with 16GB of memory and are available in red and black colors, supplemented by gold decoration. At that time, the starting price reached 16,999 yuan, and the 1TB version was priced at 18,999 yuan.
Since the W27 is essentially considered a customized version of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, it is expected to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, equipped with an 8-inch foldable main screen and a 6.5-inch external screen, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and has a 200-megapixel main camera and a 5000mAh battery.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra already offers 16GB memory and 1TB storage version, so based on the past practice of the W series, W27 is likely to directly use 16GB memory as standard configuration. However, as of now, Samsung has not announced the official price of W27. As the release date approaches, relevant details are expected to be revealed in the coming week.
