Abstract:
According to CCTV, some media reported recently that in the core area of "China's Eye in the Sky" (FAST) in Pingtang, Guizhou, after tourists pay for the "China's Eye in the Sky In-depth Science Popularization Experience" project, their vehicles can drive into the core area after being registered. Some tourists reported that after they spent 2,688 yuan to check into the "China Sky Eye Years Beyond" hotel located in the core area, they were led by a tour guide to board the "China Sky Eye" ring beam (commonly known as the "pot ring"). The security check was ineffective, and they could privately bring mobile phones and other electronic devices for close-up photography.
Last night, the Chinese Academy of Sciences issued a briefing on the incident, saying that an investigation working group had been set up to conduct a comprehensive verification of the incident. If violations of regulations and disciplines are discovered, the relevant units and responsible persons will be severely dealt with.

In order to protect the normal operation of the "China Sky Eye", the "Guizhou Province 500-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope Electromagnetic Wave Safe Zone Protection Measures" stipulates:
Except for ensuring the normal operation of radio telescopes, it is prohibited to set up or use radio stations (stations) in the core area, and it is prohibited to build or operate facilities that radiate radio waves.
It is prohibited to carry without permission mobile phones, digital cameras, tablet computers, smart wearable devices, walkie-talkies, drones and other radio transmitting equipment or electronic products that produce electromagnetic radiation.
Currently, the "China Sky Eye Beyond Years" hotel rooms on multiple platforms cannot be booked online, and the hotel information cannot be found on some platforms; the "China Sky Eye In-depth Science Popularization Experience" project has also been suspended and removed from the shelves.
