The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Leaked Before Release and Running on PC

📅 2026-11-05

Abstract:

Before the remake of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" was released, related game files and PC running videos had appeared on the Internet. The video shows that the game can be launched on a desktop computer through the Switch 2 emulator Lichii, but the current running effect is not stable.

During the demonstration, the game frequently stuttered and the frame rate fluctuated between 20 and 60 frames. The color of the picture is obviously distorted, and the overall picture is very dim. Sometimes it is even difficult to see Link clearly; the background music can be played continuously, and the sound performance is relatively complete.

In addition to recording the PC running screen, the relevant personnel also extracted the remastered version of the game files. At present, there is no complete system kernel exploitation solution for Switch 2, but the jailbreak solution called ns2jb exploits the host file system vulnerability, allowing enthusiasts to modify existing platform games or create dump files. Lichii continues the technical route of previous-generation simulation programs such as Yuzu. Previously, "Mario Kart World" and "Tokyo: Full Power" have also been brought to other platforms to run.

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered" was released today (November 5). Some retailers sent physical copies in advance or allowed players to pick up the goods in advance, which ultimately led to the game being leaked before it was released. Although the PC simulation effect is still not ideal at this stage, the game files have been extracted and launched before the official release.
