Abstract:
On October 10, according to official news from Xpeng Group, Xpeng Group was elected as the Secretary-General of the newly established "Autonomous Driving Scenario-related Information Exchange Working Group" (TF-ESRI) within the framework of the Automated/Autonomous Driving and Connected Vehicles (GRVA) Working Group under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Vehicle Regulation Coordination System. He is responsible for supporting the coordination and affairs management of the working group, and promoting the exchange of information and experience around the actual operating scenarios of autonomous driving among global regulatory agencies, certification authorities, technical experts and the industry.

This is the first time that a Chinese company has served as Secretary-General under the core framework of the United Nations autonomous driving regulations
. This time, Xiaopeng represents the International Association of Automobile Manufacturers (OICA) as the Secretary-General of the working group, and has received support from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), which means that the intelligent driving technology practice of the Chinese automobile industry is further integrated into the global autonomous driving collaboration system.TF-ESRI is co-chaired by France and China and brings together global regulatory agencies, certification authorities, technical experts and automotive industry representatives. Under this mechanism, Xiaopeng was elected Secretary-General on behalf of OICA and jointly supported the operation of the working group with the Secretary-General of the International Society of Automated Engineers (SAE).
Behind this appointment is Xpeng’s continuous promotion of the implementation of global adaptation of autonomous driving. In July this year, He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng Group, completed the localization acceptance test of Xpeng Turing AI smart driving in Germany. Xpeng Turing AI smart driving equipped with the second-generation VLA large model showed strong adaptability in real European road environments. In September, Xinhua News Agency reporters field-tested Xpeng NGP and Tesla FSD in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In some complex scenes, Xpeng demonstrated more accurate spatial judgment and more efficient traffic capabilities.

The 2026 Paris Auto Show is about to open. This auto show will hold a "Smart Driving Laboratory" public experience event. Only two companies, Xpeng and Tesla, will participate. Xpeng NGP will be the first large-scale public experience in Europe. From Germany, the Netherlands to France, Xpeng is continuing to verify the global generalization capabilities of Turing AI intelligent driving through implementation practices in different markets.
In recent years,
Xpeng has continued to participate in international technology exchange mechanisms such as the United Nations WP.29
. In February this year, the 19th Informal Working Group Meeting and 14th Seminar of the Autonomous Driving System (ADS) of the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29) was held in Shanghai. Xiaopeng, as a core representative of the industry, participated in the exchange in depth. From participating in international technology exchanges to being elected as the Secretary-General of TF-ESRI, Xiaopeng’s role in global autonomous driving collaboration is further deepening.
