According to Shaanxi Tianju Investment Group, at the recent 20th China-ASEAN Expo,COMAC and Brunei TiJi Airlines signed the "Letter of Intent to Purchase Domestic Large Aircrafts between COMAC and Brunei TiJi Airlines".According to the letter of intent,The two parties reached a purchase agreement for 30 aircraft, with an amount of US$2 billion (approximately RMB 14.6 billion)., becoming the “largest trade order” in the history of the China-ASEAN Expo.

The purchased aircraft models include the domestic regional airliner ARJ21 and the domestic large passenger aircraft C919. The specific number of each has not been disclosed. It is said that both are 15 aircraft.

This is the first overseas order for the C919 large aircraft. It is also the second overseas order for the ARJ21 after Indonesian Air Asia, the first overseas cargo aircraft order, and the first medical aircraft and business aircraft order.

at the same time,Qiji Airlines will become the first overseas airline in the world to fly large aircraft made in China.

Qiji Airlines will use a fleet of all China-made large aircraft to strengthen aviation ties with China, especially Guangxi. The first batch of cities planned to launch flights include Nanning and Guilin.

Qiji Airlines said that after undergoing due diligence and certification procedures by the Brunei Ministry of Civil Aviation, COMAC’s aircraftIt is expected to start operations in the third quarter of 2024.

Qiji Airlines was registered in Singapore in October 2021. It is the second airline headquartered in Brunei after Royal Brunei Airlines. It mainly provides flight services in Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines in the Eastern ASEAN Growth Area.

According to official data, the C919 has received at least 1,061 confirmed/intended orders, and two have been delivered to China Eastern Airlines.

In addition, Indonesian TransNusa currently operates two ARJ21-700 aircraft and plans to purchase 28 more.
