According to CCTV News, at 8:30 a.m. on September 26, the G9726 high-speed rail train slowly departed from Guangzhou East Railway Station and headed east via the newly built Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway, arriving at Shanwei Station about 73 minutes later.This is the first high-speed train of the Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway, marking the official opening of the Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway.
It is reported that the main line of the Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway is 200 kilometers long, has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and has 8 stations along the entire line.
The Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway is connected to Guangzhou East Railway Station through Guangzhou-Shenzhen Line 3 and 4 at Xintang Station, and through the connecting line from Boluo to Huizhou North Station and the connecting line from Huizhou South Station to Zhongkai Station, achieving effective connectivity with the Gansu-Shenzhen High-speed Railway.
In the initial stage of operation, up to 29 pairs of EMU trains will be operated every day.
After the map adjustment in the fourth quarter, a maximum of 43 pairs of EMU trains are operated daily.
The Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway is also an important part of the Southeast Coast Corridor, one of the main corridors of my country's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. Together with the Shantou-Shantou Section, Zhangzhou-Shantou Section, Fuxia-Zhang Section, Wen-Fu Section, and Ningbo-Taiwan-Wen Section, it constitutes the national southeast coastal high-speed rail corridor. The Ningbo-Guangzhou High-speed Railway is an important bridge and link connecting the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.
