If you want to understand more intuitively the size changes between the old and new PS5 models, the YouTube channel Cycu1 has brought a comparison video:
The protective covers on both sides of the new version of PS5 have been changed to a two-section design. The upper half adopts a uniform bright surface design, while the lower half maintains a matte design. There is an optical drive expansion slot inside the lower right cover. The optical drive version has a pre-installed optical drive, while the digital version can be expanded through optional purchase.
The internal storage space of the new PS5 console has been expanded from the existing 825GB to 1TB, providing greater storage space. In addition, the USB ports on the front have been changed from the current one Type-A and Type-C to two Type-C ports, but one of them still maintains the USB2.0 specification.
The new PS5 console will come standard with a set of stands for horizontal display, and a universal stand for vertical display will be optional, priced at US$29.99.
The prices in the United States are US$500 for the optical drive version, US$450 for the digital version, and US$89 for the expanded UHDBD optical drive. Existing models of PS5 consoles will be discontinued and will be replaced by new models of PS5 consoles after the inventory is sold out.
