BMW announced that it will world premiere its new generation of BMW smart cockpit and operating system at the 2025 US International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).These new systems will be designed around the "driving pleasure-centered" design concept and aim to enhance an intelligent and personalized future travel experience.
It is reported that,The new generation of BMW operating system is jointly designed by BMW China's digital R&D team and the Munich team, covering digital functions and services of intelligent personal assistants, navigation systems, user interfaces and in-car ecosystems.
Since 2020, BMW has conducted more than 2,500 hours of user research to optimize the usability of the "new generation" system.
BMW also plans to strengthen cooperation with Chinese technology companies to create an intelligent digital ecosystem that is in line with Chinese user habits.
In the new generation operating system, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant has been completely upgraded, providing more natural voice interaction and faster response speed, with a high user usage rate of more than 80%.
The new “See to Say” feature allows voice control of multimedia entertainment, vehicle settings and application market information.
Cooperation with local Chinese partners has enabled nearly 80% of users to frequently use BMW's in-car online navigation. New features include 3D view mode, indoor parking lot navigation and traffic light countdown.

China has become BMW's largest R&D base outside Germany. More than 3,200 BMW designers and R&D engineers work closely with Chinese technology companies, start-ups, local partners and academia to promote innovative results.
