On September 15, local time, the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stated that Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation, was in critical condition due to his serious condition. However, Kadyrov's aides released a video of Kadyrov walking with his family, and Chechnya's leadership rejected Ukraine's claims.
Ukrainian National Security Service spokesman Andriy Yusov claimed on the 15th that there was news that Kadyrov was in serious condition. "His existing disease has worsened, causing his condition to be so serious."
Earlier, Chechen sources said Kadyrov had fallen into a coma and was awaiting transfer from Chechnya to a foreign country, possibly the United Arab Emirates, for treatment.
Yusov did not provide details about Kadyrov's health problems. He claimed that Kadyrov's problems were not caused by injuries but that his health was deteriorating. "He has been ill for a long time and it is a systemic health problem. But his condition has been serious in recent days."
Yusov claimed that information about Kadyrov's health had been confirmed by multiple medical and political sources.
It’s worth noting that rumors about Kadyrov’s deteriorating health have been circulating for months. In March, Kadyrov laughed off the speculation in a post on the social platform Telegram.
"For those of you who wished me terminally ill, I'm sorry for upsetting you," Kadyrov said.
However, just after Ukraine released the relevant news, Kadyrov’s assistant Umar Daudov posted a video of Kadyrov walking with his family on social platforms
"An evening walk is a perfect ending to a dinner with the family. Friends, seize these happy moments. Take time out and pay more attention to your family. Get away from the hustle and bustle, take a break and please them and yourself," Dadov wrote when posting the video on social platforms.
In addition, Chechnya's leadership has also rejected claims that Kadyrov's health has deteriorated.
