The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee of the United States has submitted a request to Alphabet Inc. and its CEO Sundar Pichai issued the subpoena as part of its ongoing investigation into Big Tech's ties to the Biden administration.

The subpoena, issued Thursday, specifically seeks documents related to Alphabet's communications with the previous administration. Republicans have long claimed that Alphabet’s communications with the Biden administration amounted to censorship of Americans’ speech.

The Judiciary Committee has also scheduled a hearing with Pichai on March 28, according to a copy of the subpoena released Thursday by the Judiciary Committee.
