Recently, Switch modding enthusiast Naga uploaded a test video. After previously upgrading the Switch's memory to 8GB, he overclocked it and tested 20 PC games. The results showed that many games can reach 60FPS+.

The Switch has been launched for more than 8 years, and its original hardware configuration is relatively low, with only 4GB of memory. However, Naga successfully increased the Switch's memory to 8GB through modifications, and further optimized performance through overclocking.

The 20 games tested this time include well-known works such as "Dead Space", "Kingdom Hearts III", "Rise of the Tomb Raider", "Grand Theft Auto IV" and "Fallout 3".

Of course, don't expect much better picture quality. After all, there is still a gap in hardware specifications. The test environment uses Wine9.22 (supports ESync) + DXVK correction, and there will be performance losses in the process.

The test results show that the average FPS of "Call of Duty: World at War (Zombies)" can reach 60+, and the highest even exceeds 70FPS.

"Dead Space 2" also performed very well, with the frame rate even exceeding 100FPS at times.

However, not all games can achieve such smoothness. Although "Far Cry 3" can run, the FPS is only around 20, and the picture is not smooth enough.

"Grand Theft Auto IV" also has the problem of screen lag, but it is still playable.

In fact, using Switch to play PC games has no real meaning, it is just a milestone of "doing it". If you really want to play PC games, buying a handheld console or SteamDeck that supports Windows system may be a simpler choice with better game quality.
