Although Sony launched a new model of PS5, PS5Slim, at the beginning of the month, which reduced the body area by 30% and turned the optical drive into a portable and removable "additional part", overall the PS5 is still quite bulky as a host.

Recently, a foreign technology oil pipe owner "NotFromConcentrate" (literally translated as: non-concentrated substance, hereinafter referred to as NFC) has made some changes to the PS5, shrinking the PS5 console by 70%, and truly turning it into the ideal appearance of "PS5 Slim".

NFC not only redesigned the appearance of the PS5, but also replaced the large fan that occupies a lot of space. Also due to size issues, a smaller M.2 interface SSD storage was selected to replace the original high-speed SSD.

Finally, NFC also installed an official handle charging base for the host, which of course was also achieved through re-customization.

The most difficult part of the transformation is the detachable optical drive. Although Sony has officially customized the optical drive system to be easily removable, there are actually many technical limitations.

In particular, Sony uses special wires that make it impossible to transmit data if the resistance exceeds 0.5 ohms. For this reason, NFC abandoned the traditional DB25 wire and switched to an FFC adapter board and low-resistance FPC soft wire to achieve a custom detached optical drive.
