Billions of electronic products are transported by land, air and sea every year, but they are not always as safe as expected. On July 3, a trailer full of electronics went missing in Reno, Nevada.A Ceva Logistics trailer was left unattended in an unsecured parking lot, resulting in the trailer and $15 million worth ofappleand AMD products were stolen.

The police report did not reveal many details, but an anonymous source provided a tip.
Sources revealed that a Ceva Logistics trailer was dispatched from Sacramento, California to Sierra Airfreight Express in Reno, Nevada. The trailer was parked in an after-hours parking lot without guards or fences, separate from the tractor-trailer.
The suspect who stole the trailer drove a tractor into the parking lot, hooked up the trailer and fled. So, it may not be as dramatic as a blockbuster, but the goods are even more valuable.
Sources revealed that the new machine is equipped with AMD processors, which are also used in Apple products. However, the specific Apple products, whether they are parts or finished products, have not been disclosed.
The investigation is still ongoing and Ceva Logistics, Apple and AMD have not issued any official comments. Police revealed only that a manager discovered a company trailer had been stolen from the parking lot, and that was that.
Apple has dealt with a lot of theft cases, but it usually happens at an Apple Store or during package delivery. A trailer's cargo stolen from an unsecured parking lot may be an isolated case, but it may prompt the company to rethink some of its transportation partners and policies.
