Former PlayStation head Shuhei Yoshida said it was "difficult" for Japanese game studios to replicate the speed of Chinese game development, adding that Chinese studios were able to recruit more employees "who can work long hours." In an interview, Shuhei Yoshida shared his views on China's game industry: "China's development speed is amazing, personnel adjustments are also very rapid, and the entire game development work is progressing at a very fast pace."

"When communicating with MiHoYo representatives before, we discussed that it would be difficult for Japanese developers to adopt MiHoYo's model for game development, not to mention that it might also cause relevant legal issues." Shuhei Yoshida said.
"I'm thinking that Japanese game developers may indeed be unable to copy the Chinese model in some aspects of development. One of the reasons why China's game industry is so strong is that its environment allows the recruitment of a large number of employees who can work long hours.
"Of course, things could change in the near term, but for now, I think that's the most critical factor."
