Today, Tsinghua University Film and Television Communication Research Center released an obituary,Ye Jun, one of the directors of "I Repair Cultural Relics in the Forbidden City", passed away on April 18 due to ineffective treatment for his illness. He was only 43 years old.According to reports, Ye Jun graduated from Tsinghua University in 2006 and later received a postgraduate degree from Tsinghua University.
He has worked for Shanghai TV, CCTV and iQiyi. His directed "I Repair Cultural Relics in the Forbidden City" and co-written and directed "If National Treasures Could Talk" are not only classics on the screen, but also the starting point for a generation to re-understand tradition and ingenuity.

"I Repair Cultural Relics in the Forbidden City" premiered in January 2016 and currently has a rating of 9.4 on Douban, making it the highest-rated drama series in 2016.
The film focuses on recording the restoration process of rare and precious cultural relics in the fields of Forbidden City calligraphy and painting, bronzes, palace clocks, woodware, ceramics, lacquerware, treasure inlays, palace weaving and embroidery, and the life stories of the restorers.
