[Oriental Jincheng: There is still the possibility that the Federal Reserve will continue to raise interest rates in 2027] On October 29, Oriental Jincheng said that the hawkish stance of the Federal Reserve’s October meeting has not subsided. Two voting committee members advocated continuing to raise interest rates. Among them, Governor Cook, who was previously regarded as a centrist, voted against it for the first time, indicating that the tolerance of inflation risks within the Fed has further declined; however, most members chose to observe the effect of the policy after raising interest rates in September, and monetary policy has entered a stage of careful observation and discretionary decision-making. Starting from 2027, the Federal Reserve will reduce the number of formal interest rate decisions, mainly to free up strategic space to promote the restructuring of the balance sheet system. It will have a limited impact on the interest rate decision itself, but it will increase the volatility and gaming space of market pricing. Looking forward to the follow-up, high international oil prices coupled with core inflation stickiness, there is a high probability that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates by 25 basis points at the December meeting and raise interest rates to a range of 4.00% to 4.25%. There is still the possibility of continuing to raise interest rates in 2027.
