Abstract:
A few days ago, many netizens posted on social platforms, showing off the employee commemorative plaques they received after their fifth anniversary at Apple. It is worth noting that
under the message on the commemorative plaque, the signature has been changed to Apple’s new CEO John Ternus instead of current CEO Tim Cook.
However, Cook has not officially resigned yet.
According to Apple's previously announced arrangements,
Cook will step down as CEO on September 1 this year and transition to the company's executive chairman. John Ternus, currently Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering, will officially take over as CEO.
This also means that some employee-related commemorative materials within Apple have begun to complete the signature switching between the old and new CEOs ahead of schedule.
At the 2026 Apple Autumn New Product Launch Conference on September 10, Ternus will also make his first public appearance since taking over as CEO.
Cook previously said,
Ternus is an outstanding engineer and thinker who has been dedicated to building Apple products for the past 25 years and has extremely high requirements for product details and innovation. He is the best candidate to take over as CEO.
As a highly experienced hardware leader within Apple, Ternus has long been involved in the research and development of core products such as iPhone, iPad, and Mac. He has frequently appeared in many Apple conferences in recent years, and has gradually become one of the most representative executives in Apple’s hardware business.
