ASML will increase prices of Korean parts by 10%

📅 2026-10-10

Abstract:

It is reported that ASML will increase the price of equipment replacement parts supplied to South Korea by 10%. The price increase covers all components of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machines, and products delivered starting from January next year will have new prices.

According to industry news on the 10th, ASML’s headquarters sent the price increase plan to Samsung and SK Hynix through its Korean legal representative early last month. After consultation with the purchasing departments of the two companies, the price increase was finally finalized.

From consumable parts that need to be purchased regularly to core components that are replaced when equipment fails or performance degrades, prices have been raised for all categories. The interior of a lithography machine contains a large number of components, such as optical components such as lenses and reflectors that transmit light, as well as light sources, precision driving devices, etc. The cost of ongoing operation of the equipment will increase accordingly.

It is reported that in the past, ASML would only adjust the prices of corresponding parts and components individually when the price of raw materials increased significantly or when procurement of specific materials was difficult. This unified increase of 10% is a rare operation.

An insider in the semiconductor industry said: "On the one hand, the prices of various raw materials for parts and components have generally increased; on the other hand, ASML also hopes to obtain higher profits on the premise that customers can make profits."

ASML will separately calculate revenue from maintenance services, parts replacement and upgrades of equipment installed in customer factories. Last year, this segment’s revenue was 8.193 billion euros, accounting for 25% of the total revenue of 32.667 billion euros. ASML expects the business to grow by more than 30% this year.

Following the price increase of parts and components, the price of newly ordered ASML complete equipment will most likely also rise. ASML is negotiating with major customers about equipment price increases.
