DeepSeek's talent expansion continues, but the gun has turned its direction. On September 8, DeepSeek launched a new round of recruitment, planning to recruit about 150 engineers. The positions are all concentrated in two directions: server development engineers and agent elastic computing R&D engineers. The focus is on senior back-end engineers with 2 to 10 years of experience. There are no AI research positions.

This is DeepSeek’s second large-scale recruitment in more than two months. On June 25, DeepSeek announced on its official public account that "with the evolution of technology, it is working hard to at least double the size of all departments" and opened a total of 33 positions in 7 categories at one time, covering Beijing and Hangzhou.

Different from the last comprehensive recruitment expansion, the 150 positions recruited this time are precisely focused on engineering and infrastructure.

The shift in recruitment demand reflects that this large model company, known as "small but powerful", is shifting its competitive focus from model research itself to the infrastructure arms race in the Agent era.

Server-side development engineers are divided into six directions: large model research platform, Agent framework components, R&D efficiency infrastructure, DeepSeek API, online services, and data engineering, covering the complete link from model research to user-oriented services. Among them, the online service direction needs to support the design of large-model application architecture with a scale of "tens of millions of daily active users", and the API direction needs to cope with the "very large-scale API service challenge".

Agent elastic computing R&D engineers are divided into two directions: platform development and underlying systems. The technical coordinate of this recruitment is DeepSeek’s self-developed elastic computing platform DSec (DeepSeek Elastic Compute).

DSec was publicly disclosed for the first time in the previously released DeepSeek-V4 technical report.
