Abstract:
As the release date of Apple’s first foldable screen phone iPhone Duo approaches, more details of its exclusive StandBy standby mode have been exposed in advance. The latest leaked information shows that Apple has actually prepared a number of new interfaces that have not yet been made public, making this feature far richer than what was shown at the press conference.
Apple has previously confirmed that iPhone Duo will be equipped with a specially optimized StandBy mode. Unlike existing iPhones, the new system can be enabled even without a charger connected. Thanks to the folding structure, users can half-expand the phone, allowing the device to naturally form a stand and continuously display various information content.
According to information discovered by developers through the iOS 27.1 test code, Apple has hidden at least five new StandBy interfaces that have not yet been announced, named Home Camera, Home Modular, Flow, Fade and Snoopy.
One of the most useful new features is Home Camera. This interface can directly display smart home camera images, supporting not only a single channel of real-time monitoring, but also a monitoring matrix composed of up to nine cameras at the same time. For users who already use the HomeKit ecosystem, iPhone Duo can almost directly serve as a monitoring display terminal in standby mode.
Another interface called Home Modular is considered to be related to smart home control centers. Although Apple has not announced specific functions, judging from the naming and code information, it is likely to be used to centrally manage home devices, smart scenes, and various home automation control projects.
At the same time, Apple has also developed two more mysterious new interfaces.
Flow seems to be related to dynamic art effects. Descriptions such as "responsive art" appear in the relevant code, which means that the interface may change based on time, environment or user operations. As for Fade, no clear functional information has been found so far, and its specific use is still unknown.
In addition, Apple has also prepared a Snoopy theme interface. Considering that Apple has continued to strengthen cooperation with "Peanuts" in recent years, this set of interfaces is expected to adopt an animation style to add more entertainment and personalized elements to the standby mode.
These new interfaces will join Apple’s lineup of StandBy features that have been publicly demonstrated before. The currently known official interfaces include analog clocks, digital clocks, classic calendars, weather, photos, memories, shared albums, and modular information panels.

In the future, users can customize the color scheme, display style and layout structure of the standby interface just like customizing the Apple Watch dial. Some interfaces support quickly switching styles by sliding left and right, and previewing the final effect in real time.
For interfaces that support widgets, Apple has also prepared five different layout modes, including StandBy, Stacked, Top, Middle, and Bottom, allowing users to adjust the information display area according to personal preferences.
Analysts believe that these changes show that Apple's positioning of iPhone Duo has surpassed traditional smartphones. With the folding design, dual-screen structure and new StandBy system, this device is being built as an intelligent information terminal that can be placed on the desktop, bedside table or kitchen countertop for a long time.
From surveillance camera viewing, smart home control to personalized information display, iPhone Duo seems to be developing into a new device form between a mobile phone and a smart display. As the October launch date approaches, Apple may announce more exclusive features related to the foldable form in the future.
