Abstract:
According to news released by the Boban Tang public account, Nvidia is accelerating the launch of the RTX 5080 24GB version of the graphics card. This graphics card is expected to be available as soon as December 2026, and if it encounters problems, it may be available around January 2027.

Supply chain news also said that Nvidia plans to stop supplying the RTX 5090 D V2 and RTX 5080 16GB version in the Chinese market. In the future, the RTX 5080 24GB version may become a high-end model in the Chinese market.
Supply chain sources say that NVIDIA has cleared RTX 5080 16GB related graphics card inventory, and the existing inventory is expected to be sold for about two months. According to this statement, the last stock of the RTX 5080 16GB version may be gradually sold out after the new model is launched, and will be replaced by the 24GB version.
The news also mentioned that the RTX 5090 D V2 will stop being supplied to the Chinese market. This graphics card is the RTX 5090 graphics card launched by Nvidia specifically for the Chinese market and is equipped with 24GB of video memory. If this graphics card is discontinued, the highest configuration among NVIDIA consumer graphics cards in the Chinese market in the future will be the RTX 5080 24GB version.
The existing RTX 5080 is mainly equipped with 16GB GDDR7 video memory. If the new version upgrades the video memory to 24GB, that will be good news for high-end users. The larger video memory will help handle high-resolution textures, large-scale creative projects, and some local AI workloads. For users who need to load larger models, 24GB can also provide more ample video memory space.
In addition, the existing RTX 5080 16GB version mainly uses 8 2GB GDDR7 video memory. The 24GB version can theoretically use 8 3GB version video memory to increase the capacity. However, the specific graphics memory particle configuration will not be known until the product is released.
Considering that the current price of graphics cards is extremely high, the price of the RTX 5080 24GB version should be significantly higher than the RTX 5080 16GB version. However, after all, the RTX 5080 cannot compare with the RTX 5090 in terms of performance, so the final price should be cheaper than the RTX 5090 D V2 version.
