Abstract:
NVIDIA and Mercedes-Benz announced that they will deepen their strategic cooperation and jointly promote the development of next-generation assisted driving systems. It combines Mercedes-Benz’s automotive engineering technology, deep accumulation in the safety field and MB.OS operating system, as well as NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and AI technology.

Mercedes-Benz said that deepening cooperation is an important milestone and reflects the mutual trust established by both parties over the years. They hope to jointly promote more pioneering technologies and apply them to roads to provide customers with an excellent assisted driving experience. According to Nvidia, accelerated computing is giving vehicles the intelligence to understand the surrounding environment and reason about complex driving scenarios. Mercedes-Benz has the outstanding engineering capabilities required for this change, as well as a firm commitment to safety.
Mercedes-Benz’s MB.OS operating system supports new driving features and over-the-air (OTA) updates, and runs in conjunction with the NVIDIA Hyperion computing and sensor architecture. NVIDIA Alpamayo Stack provides full-stack driving software with AI reasoning capabilities, supporting urban point-to-point assisted driving, active safety and automatic parking. NVIDIA Halos further strengthens Mercedes-Benz’s safety system, with its parallel safety technology stack providing redundancy and security. Together, these technologies will support advanced assisted driving functions and the development of future SAE-L4 autonomous driving applications, including autonomous luxury cars.
In addition to assisted driving, Mercedes-Benz also uses technology provided by NVIDIA in the automotive engineering simulation and digital production ecosystem MO360, with applications ranging from virtual planning to AI applications. In the future, NVIDIA and Mercedes-Benz will continue to work hard to further improve the efficiency, flexibility and quality of Mercedes-Benz's global production network.
