Abstract:
NVIDIA announced today that it will invest US$1 billion worth of resources over the next five years to build U.S. super-intelligence research and development capabilities, covering areas critical to maintaining U.S. leadership, including quantum computing, medical health, and energy security. The news was announced at the Science: A New Golden Age event in Washington. This event brings together U.S. officials, industry leaders, and scientific researchers to discuss relying on public-private collaboration to advance scientific exploration.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said: "Trump's Genesis Mission has ushered in a new golden age of scientific discovery in the United States. NVIDIA has invested US$1 billion to put advanced superintelligence into the hands of American scientists and accelerate breakthrough research in the fields of medicine, energy and materials. This is how the United States transforms its scientific research leadership into industrial advantages and innovation into jobs and generational opportunities."
At the event, the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy affirmed the expansion of the Genesis Project, and NVIDIA is the core industry partner of the plan. NVIDIA simultaneously invites the scientific research community to carry out R&D collaboration based on computing power and super-intelligent infrastructure to accelerate scientific discovery and promote American innovation.
In the next five years, NVIDIA will invest US$1 billion to promote superintelligence and quantum computing technology for scientific research in the United States. The funds will be used to support scientific research institutions in American universities, help consolidate the United States' leading position in the quantum field, and provide support for cloud service providers that meet the mission needs of the US government.
NVIDIA has also participated in a number of Genesis Project Phase II funding projects announced at this event, covering the fields of quantum computing, nuclear fusion, accelerator design and microelectronics.
NVIDIA has cooperated with U.S. national laboratories for more than 20 years. Last year, Nvidia announced its cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to participate in the Genesis Project. One of the tasks is to build the Department of Energy's largest scientific research supercomputer at Argonne National Laboratory. In addition, NVIDIA has also added 7 new computing systems for Argonne and Los Alamos National Laboratories to support the Department of Energy's core goal of maintaining technological leadership.
