Abstract:
NVIDIA has recently stepped up its scientific research cooperation with the US government again, promising to invest US$1 billion in resources within five years to deeply participate in the "Genesis Project" promoted by the Trump administration. Quantum computing, medical health and energy security and other fields will become the focus of investment.
According to media reports, Nvidia announced on October 8, local time, that it will provide resources worth US$1 billion over the next five years to enhance the United States’ “super intelligence” research and development capabilities in key areas such as quantum computing, medical health, and energy security.
Nvidia announced the news at the White House’s “Science: A New Golden Age” summit in Washington. U.S. government officials, industry leaders, and members of the scientific community attended the event to discuss the public-private collaboration needed to advance scientific exploration.
Nvidia stated that the US$1 billion will be invested mainly through three channels:
supporting U.S. higher education research institutions, investing to consolidate the U.S.’s leading position in the quantum field, and supporting cloud service providers that serve the U.S. government’s mission needs.
This is not the first time NVIDIA has carried out scientific research cooperation with the US government.
Media reports pointed out that Nvidia has cooperated with the U.S. National Laboratory affiliated with the U.S. Department of Energy for more than 20 years.
Last year, NVIDIA announced that it would cooperate with the U.S. Department of Energy to promote the Genesis Mission, which includes cooperation with Oracle to build the U.S. Department of Energy’s largest scientific research supercomputer at Argonne National Laboratory.
Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement released on October 8 that President Trump’s “Genesis Project” is opening a new golden age of scientific discovery in the United States.
He said:
"With a $1 billion investment, NVIDIA is putting advanced superintelligence into the hands of American scientists to accelerate breakthroughs in medicine, energy and materials. This is how the United States transforms scientific leadership into industry leadership and innovation into generational jobs and opportunities."
According to media reports, technology giants such as Nvidia are increasingly using the term "superintelligence" to refer to AI, in line with the Trump administration's preferred expression.
Genesis Project
The report pointed out that at that day’s event, the U.S. White House Office of Science and Technology Policy introduced the latest progress of the “Genesis Project.” Nvidia said it is the primary industry partner in the program.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the "Genesis Project" was launched by Trump in November 2025 and aims to create a comprehensive scientific research platform connecting supercomputers, experimental facilities, AI systems and unique data sets.
On July 22 this year, the White House announced that more than 15 federal agencies would provide more than $5 billion in committed resources to the program; the U.S. Department of Energy announced on the same day that the program had received more than $800 million in partner commitments.
Nvidia stated that the company has also participated in multiple second-stage funding projects of the Genesis Project announced that day, covering fields such as quantum computing, nuclear fusion, accelerator design and microelectronics.
The company also invites people from the scientific community to use its computing power and super-intelligent infrastructure resources to conduct collaborative research and development to accelerate scientific discovery and promote American innovation.
