Abstract:
Ford Motors stated that due to supplier-related issues, the F‑150 production line was suspended for about a week, which will have an impact on the batch delivery of complete vehicles in the third quarter. This setback in production is another challenge encountered by Ford on the road to recovery of F‑150 sales. A previous fire at an aluminum supplier's factory has plagued the company's pickup truck production for more than a year. Ford's overall U.S. market sales fell 10%; Ford F-Series pickup sales, including the F-150 and heavy-duty pickups, fell 11%.

A Ford spokesman said that the supply chain problems encountered by the car company this time stem from the shortage of parts. CEO Jim Farley said Ford has dispatched a supply chain task force to quickly resolve the problem and production in the fourth quarter is not expected to be affected.
Ford said it plans to produce an additional 150,000 pickup trucks this year compared with lower production in 2025 to make up for lost sales caused by a fire at an aluminum plant. According to data from Cox Automotive Consulting, Hyundai Motor is expected to surpass Ford in the U.S. market sales rankings and become the third largest automaker in the U.S. market due to the sharp decline in Ford's sales in 2026.
