📅 2026-10-13

Abstract:

SanDisk officially released its new Guardian series of storage products, targeting home security cameras, driving recorders and other continuous monitoring equipment, emphasizing high durability and all-weather recording capabilities. The new product is specially optimized for long-term continuous writing, loop coverage and operation requirements in complex environments, aiming to improve the reliable storage capability of key imaging data.

With the increasing popularity of home surveillance equipment, car camera systems and various smart security products, consumers are increasingly relying on local storage to save important video records. SanDisk said that traditional storage products are not designed for 24-hour continuous recording, but the Guardian series has been specially developed for this application scenario and can better adapt to long-term uninterrupted work requirements.

Susan Park, vice president of SanDisk's consumer products business, said that today's consumers are increasingly relying on camera equipment to monitor family members, homes, vehicles and personal property, so reliable storage devices have become crucial. She pointed out that continuous recording and harsh environments such as high temperature and high humidity will bring severe challenges to storage media, and the Guardian series is designed to meet these requirements and can provide more reliable local storage guarantee for critical video data.

The Guardian series released this time first includes two products. The first one is the SanDisk Dash Cam Card, which is mainly aimed at the driving recorder market. It is compatible with a variety of vehicle camera equipment and supports video recording from Full HD to 4K UHD. The product is optimized for long-term vehicle operating environments and can withstand high temperature and humidity conditions. The capacity is available in multiple versions from 32GB to 512GB. The 512GB model has been tested to support a maximum recording life of approximately 40,000 hours.

The second product is the SanDisk Security Cam Card, which is targeted at the home and enterprise security camera market. This product can be used with cloud storage and can also undertake local video storage tasks when the network connection is interrupted. The capacity also covers 32GB to 512GB specifications, and has a waterproof, dustproof and temperature-resistant design, which can meet the needs of year-round outdoor surveillance systems. The product supports video recording from Full HD to 4K UHD resolution to provide a clearer surveillance picture.

SanDisk stated that the core goal of the Guardian series is to provide higher durability, stronger reliability, and wider device compatibility for continuous recording applications to meet the challenges posed by modern surveillance equipment to frequent writing and long-term operation of storage media. As the demand for local video storage continues to grow, this series has also become an important product layout for SanDisk to further expand the security and surveillance storage market.

Currently, SanDisk Guardian series memory cards are already on sale in some retail channels, with the recommended retail price starting from US$28.99 for the 32GB version.
