Abstract:
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series is officially on sale today, and there are still long queues at Apple stores everywhere, and it is extremely popular.
Blogger "Focus Digital" broke the news that although the iPhone 18 Pro series has increased in price, its sales are better than in previous years during the same period. It is worth paying attention to the shipment data in Q4.
Production-side news shows that in the past, the factory did not receive three times the overtime pay during the same period. This year, the overtime pay was tripled to retain employees and work overtime to produce new machines. The production capacity is expected to increase by more than 60%.

Judging from the pre-sale data, the iPhone 18 Pro series started pre-sale at 8 pm on September 12. The number of reservations across the entire platform exceeded 4 million to 4.5 million. The first batch of supplies was sold out in less than 1 minute after the sale started. "Apple 18 can't be grabbed" became the number one hot search on Weibo.
The delivery time for popular versions on the official website has been scheduled to September 30 or even mid-to-late October, and the waiting period for some Pro Max versions is as long as more than half a month.
The iPhone 18 Pro 256GB starts at 9,999 yuan in China, and the Pro Max 256GB starts at 10,999 yuan. Both are 1,000 yuan more than the previous generation, but the rush to buy them has not dropped but has increased.

From the perspective of supply and demand, there are multiple factors behind the shortage:
First, Apple has canceled the fall release of the iPhone 18 standard version this year, and all replacement demand has been squeezed into the Pro series;
Second, the A20 Pro chip uses TSMC's 2nm process, and the initial yield rate is still climbing. Coupled with the global DRAM memory shortage, TSMC's factory has a backlog of about US$1 billion of A20 Pro processors that have not yet completed packaging.
In terms of supply chain, Apple has set a full-year shipment target of 95 million units to the supply chain, and the first batch of stocks will be approximately 90 million units, of which Pro models account for more than half.
