On the morning of September 23, Xianyu’s investigation results were announced: After a comprehensive inspection, no obscene information was found in the publicly displayed information on the platform, and there was no obscene information involving minors; the illegal chat screenshots involved in recent media reports were verified to be from other platforms and did not occur on Xianyu. Xianyu has reported the relevant incidents to the public security organs.

Xianyu stated that the platform has zero tolerance for using Xianyu to divert illegal traffic, and does not allow information and incidents that harm minors to occur.

The investigation results stated that Xianyu strictly controls the public display of information in accordance with laws and regulations. In response to the content reported by the media, Xianyu conducted multiple rounds of self-examination on the entire platform. No obscene information was found in the publicly displayed information on the platform, and there was no obscene content involving minors.

Regarding the traffic in private chats, Xianyu has always used technical means to block illegal keywords and strictly prevents the use of the platform to attract traffic for illegal activities. The illegal contents revealed in the report, including chat records involving minors, appear from the screenshots to be chat records from other platforms and did not occur on Xianyu. Currently, Xianyu has reported relevant merchants, QR codes and chat records to the platform for follow-up processing.

Xianyu stated that although the chats and transactions reported in the media occurred on other platforms, Xianyu, as one of the target platforms for criminals to divert traffic, has an unshirkable governance responsibility. In order to prevent criminals from using normal products as a cover to avoid audits and maliciously divert users to other social platforms to engage in illegal transactions, Xianyu has reported the case as soon as possible, handed over relevant reports and information to the public security organs for processing, and will fully cooperate with the investigation.

Xianyu said that combating black and gray production is a long-term and arduous struggle that requires continuous efforts. Faced with industry-wide problems such as cross-platform traffic diversion, Xianyu will fully fulfill its responsibilities as a platform, proactively cooperate with authorities at all levels, continue to upgrade its technical identification capabilities, and increase manual inspections. At the same time, it is proposed that all Internet platforms jointly establish an anti-drainage alliance targeting black and gray products, using technical means and multi-platform collaboration to block the use of online platforms to divert traffic for illegal crimes.
