Iran is exploring switching from GPS to China's Beidou. The report mentioned,Iranian Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ehsanchit Sazben revealed to the media that Iran is exploring the gradual migration of positioning systems in key areas from the US GPS to Beidou.

Some analysts pointed out that Iran's decision is not only a technical choice, but also reflects global concerns about dependence on Western technological infrastructure, indicating that the era of blind and naive reliance on US-controlled infrastructure is ending.

During the 12-day Israeli-Iraqi conflict in June this year, Iran and its ships in the waters of the Persian Gulf repeatedly encountered GPS signal interference; many Iranian nuclear scientists and senior commanders were assassinated, which also triggered concerns about penetrating telecommunications systems and using mobile phones to track the location of personnel. So after the conflict ended, the Iranian government began to look for alternatives.

"The Beidou system not only has an advanced architecture and high positioning accuracy, but also has significant coverage advantages in Asia, and its control is independently controlled by China, not the United States," said Ehsanchitsaz.
