LG Electronics said on Friday it will launch a new gaming monitor with built-in artificial intelligence (AI) technology that can increase the resolution of content to 5K. LG Electronics said in a press release that it will launch the UltraGear evo display at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA, in January next year.

LG Electronics said that the new 27-inch and 39-inch displays use on-device AI solutions to upscale all displayed content to 5K resolution, allowing users to enjoy higher-quality videos without upgrading the graphics processor (GPU).

The monitor also automatically recognizes the type of video being played to provide optimized screen and video settings, the company added.

LG Electronics said, "LG UltraGear evo equipped with on-device AI solutions will help consolidate its leading position in the global high-end gaming market."
