Abstract:
Recently, Apple's new CEO John Ternus and marketing chief Greg Joswiak jointly accepted interviews with the media to explain in detail the reasons for Apple's delay in launching folding screen models, design concepts, and how the team strictly guarded the confidentiality of the iPhone Duo project.

Ternus said that the timing of product launch always depends on whether the creativity can meet Apple's strict standards in terms of quality, durability and design. He said this product "opened up a new track for us and allowed us to rethink a lot of details."
Joswiak said that Apple has carefully studied the products of other folding screen manufacturers and believes that the existing solutions on the market "lack new design ideas." He said Apple's research and development thinking is divided into two layers - no pun intended.
First, Apple adopts a wide screen ratio of 1:1.4, completely abandoning the abnormal shape of two mobile phones that are stiffly spliced together; second, the team deeply reconstructs the software system to make the iPhone Duo experience different from all folding models on the market.
Talking about the foldable inner screen, Ternus said that the surface of the inner screen is made of polymer instead of glass. For this reason, Apple has specially developed a new process to achieve nano-texture coating.
He bluntly said that competing screens are "just cheap plastic surfaces, rough to the touch, and prone to wavy and uneven wrinkles"
."The nano-texture process perfectly solves the above-mentioned defects. The screen is smooth and smooth, has an excellent hand feel, and its durability is also greatly improved." He added.
Joswiak is quite proud of the confidentiality achievements of the project: "We have added multiple layers of security to the project and kept it secret from the outside world throughout the process. We also gave the project an irrelevant and very funny code name, which I will not reveal here.
The reason why the confidentiality level is full is because the outside world has already known through leaks that we are developing a folding mobile phone."
Joswiak admitted that the whistleblower happened to guess the screen aspect ratio correctly. "Many manufacturers have unanimously focused on this screen ratio. After this incident, we made up our minds to completely lock down the project, and ultimately the confidentiality work was successful."
Regarding the starting price of US$1,999 (US$15,999 in China), Ternus admitted: "This model is indeed priced higher than other mobile phones, but we think it is worth the money." Joswiak added: "There is a reason why this product is named iPhone Duo. It is essentially two devices in one."
