Graphics card prices have increased by 15% in a single month, and the global selling price of RTX 5090 has been 136% higher than the recommended retail price.

Tracking the latest price data from 10 countries shows that global graphics card prices have increased by 15% in one month. Excluding the extreme exception of the RTX 5090, the current average selling price of all graphics card models is already 28% higher than the listed recommended retail price. TechSpot said that the price deviation of the RTX 5090 is too large, and it is not strictly a graphics card for gamers.

Nvidia still lists the RTX 5090's suggested retail price as US$1,999, but in the US market, the cheapest model currently on sale is priced at close to US$5,000, about 145% higher than the recommended retail price; globally, its price is also 136% higher than the recommended retail price.

Overall, the average price of GeForce graphics cards increased by 19% month-on-month, while Radeon graphics cards increased by 11%. This trend is consistent with previous reports: the price of RTX 50 series graphics cards has increased by up to 41% in a single month, and this data shows that the price increase is still continuing.

In the statistical list, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is currently the graphics card with the second highest price increase. In the U.S. market, the card is priced 70% higher than the suggested retail price of $429; based on global prices, the increase is also 53%. In comparison, models of the same series with 8GB of video memory are only 14% higher than the recommended retail price globally, and the price performance difference between the two is very obvious.

AMD also failed to completely avoid rising graphics card prices, but the impact was relatively small. The global price of the RX 9060 XT 16GB has increased by 28%, while the RX 9070 remains one of the better price performers, currently only 13% above the MSRP.

The main reason for this price increase seems to be the shift in GDDR7 memory supply to artificial intelligence hardware. According to reports, AMD graphics cards still use GDDR6 video memory, which may explain why the price performance of Radeon products is slightly better than that of GeForce. However, this relatively stable situation may be difficult to maintain in the long term.
