Recently, there has been a lot of news that Lenovo's first-generation Legion Go will stop driver support. The cause is a message purportedly from Lenovo's Korean customer service, and there is even a statement that AMD will stop developing drivers for Ryzen Z1 Extreme devices. In response to this rumor, PCWorld reporter Adam Patrick Murray asked Lenovo US officials for confirmation and received a clear response.

Lenovo’s official statement stated that Legion Go has not been discontinued and the company will continue to provide drivers and BIOS updates for the device until October 2029.

Lenovo also emphasized that it is coordinating the driver release rhythm with AMD, and all updates must be verified by Lenovo before being pushed.

This clarification shows that the information previously provided by Korean customer service was incorrect or outdated.

However, the officially promised support until 2029 does not mean that users can enjoy the first-day game optimization or rapid drive iteration that is synchronized with the desktop version.

In fact, Lenovo has always been slow in updating Legion Go drivers. Currently, the latest AMD graphics card driver package listed on its support page is still the September 1, 2025 version.

For users who are pursuing extreme performance and optimization of first-time games, Lenovo Korea has previously suggested that they can try to install AMD’s universal version of the driver, but this is an unofficial verification path and may have minor compatibility issues.
