Abstract:
The animal species in "GTA6" will be the richest in the history of Rockstar games, with more than 170 different species, including more than 60 kinds of birds, more than 30 kinds of terrestrial mammals, as well as various reptiles, fish, etc.
Whether you find them in the wilds of GTA 6 or see them in the zoo enclosures of Leonidas, there's plenty to explore. Here’s what we know so far about the animal system in GTA 6.

Visiting the zoo is one of the many side activities in "GTA6", but if you want to visit quietly, you must first get rid of the wanted status. Through trailers, screenshots and play previews, we have learned about many animals that will appear in "GTA6", including:
Cats, including domestic cats and wild cats
Dogs, including multiple breeds
Nine-banded armadillo
Rhesus monkey
Sharks, including multiple species

These animals range from common local wild species to invasive species, reflecting the rich species diversity of Florida in real life. After extensive research, each animal will have an animation that matches its characteristics. The addition of elements such as iridescence, bioluminescence, translucency effects and even different types of feathers will also make them look more realistic than ever. The animal's hair and fur have also been upgraded: a new hair system not only displays different colors, but also shows how the appearance changes when it is wetted with water, and how the hair clumps when stained with soil from the environment.

According to the extended version of the actual machine previously released by Rockstar, when you approach the animals in "GTA6", the game will provide a variety of interaction options, and the animals will respond accordingly. When Jason encounters a dog in an apartment complex, he can praise it from a distance; when he gets closer, he can choose to scold or pet it. What's more, the game also offers the option to research animals. After the research is completed, the animal will be included in the illustrated book like in Red Dead Redemption 2. Complete the record book by investigating various creatures, and likely receive rewards.
In addition to the common animals that can be encountered throughout Leonidas, Rockstar has also confirmed that there will be many unusual creatures waiting for players to track down in the game, similar to the "Red Dead Redemption" series. These animals will be divided into three categories: Rare, Discoverable, and Legendary. But other than that, Rockstar is still tight-lipped on specific details, hoping that players will be surprised when they explore it for themselves.
